On Monday afternoon, police in Crystal Lake got a strange call about a potbellied pig. The pig was first seen in a front yard on Dartmoor Drive. Officers went to the area and found the pig, named Rudy, a few houses away.

With help from a local resident, the officers put a leash on Rudy and guided it to a nearby fenced backyard. Then McHenry County Animal Control came and took Rudy to Hooved Animal Society in Barrington.

At the animal center, Rudy stayed in its own stable. It was given water, fruits, vegetables, and special pig food. The police department later posted about the missing pig on Facebook, and soon Rudy was reunited with its owner. Its owner picked Rudy up from Hooved Animal Society.
