Yesenia is a student at a university in Chicago. She also works part-time at a small café near campus. Every day, she wears a green uniform and makes coffee for her classmates.

Last Sunday, she invited her fiancé, Anselmo, to a special dinner. She found her grandmother's recipe for tamales in an old notebook. She also made fresh guacamole and bread with sesame seeds. By five o'clock, the kitchen was a catastrophe! There was flour on the floor and salsa on the stove.

Anselmo arrived early with an umbrella because it was raining. He helped Yesenia clean the kitchen before they ate. During dinner, Anselmo said that the meal was unique and delicious. Yesenia laughed and said she had learned a useful lesson about starting early.
