Modal Verbs

Ability: can/could
Advice: should/ought to
Obligation: must/have to
Permission/Request: may/can/could/would

No “to” after modals: must go, not *must to go*.

Comparatives & Superlatives

short adj: taller / the tallest
long adj: more interesting / the most interesting
irregular: better/best, worse/worst

Articles & Quantifiers

a/an (singular), the (specific), zero article (general plurals/uncountables).
some/any, much/many, few/little, a few/a little.

Prepositions (Time & Place)

in months/years/periods; on days/dates; at clock times.
Place: at a point, in an area, on a surface.

Tag Questions

Positive main clause → negative tag: He is tired, isn’t he?
Negative main clause → positive tag: You don’t mind, do you?
