Negatives: do/does not + base
Questions: Do/Does + subject + base?

Present Continuous

am/is/are + V-ing → We are reading
Use for now/temporary plans.

Simple Past

V2/-ed; negatives/questions with did + base.
Finished past time: yesterday, in 2010.

Past Continuous

was/were + V-ing → background action.
When + past interrupts; While + two long actions.

Gerunds

-ing as a noun: subject, object, after prepositions.
Common after: enjoy, avoid, admit, recommend, finish…
