Punctuation is optional. Contractions are recognized. Times normalize to “8:00 pm”.

Forming Comparatives

Short adj (1 syllable): tall → taller
Adj ending -y: happy → happier
2+ syllables: use moremore careful
Irregular: good → better, bad → worse

Double final consonant when CVC: thin → thinner, big → bigger.

Forming Superlatives

Short adj: tall → the tallest
-y → funny → the funniest
2+ syllables: the mostthe most useful
Irregular: good → the best, bad → the worst

Use of before a set: “the tallest of the three”; often in + place/time: “the hottest month of the year; the hottest day of the week”.
